1. Lugubrious - Looking or sounding sad and dismal.

5. Quixotic - Exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical.

  - Antonyms: Practical, realistic, pragmatic.

Example: His quixotic quest to find the lost city of Atlantis was both inspiring and futile.
